Use the filter right out of the box, no pre-soaking required to get great tasting water without chlorine taste and odor. The activated carbon and ion exchange resine reduces several waterborne contaminants such as copper, mercury and benzene. MAVEA water filtration systems are tested and certified for NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 compliance and hold WQA Gold Seal certification for assurance that the filter meets industry standards for quality and safety.
